The goal of GLIWA is to continually develop its good name as a conveyor of know-how in the embedded timing domain. In this pursuit, GLIWA seeks new experts, who are interested in, on the one hand, deep insight into customer projects and, on the other hand, to take part in the development of future timing tools.

Software developer for static code-analysis

For the further development of our market-leading product T1 we are looking for experts in the field of static code analysis. With your outstanding knowledge and skills, we would like to significantly expand the functionality of T1 - not least to open up new markets. Your own ideas are in demand and there is plenty of scope for their development. At this point, almost exclusive work from the home office is possible.

Job description
  • Specification, design and implementation of static code analysis algorithms
  • Development of the corresponding test-plans as well as unit-tests and system-tests
  • Further development of our products in the field of static analysis
We are looking for experience, familiarity or knowledge of as many as possible of the following, in order of decreasing importance:
  • Analysis of source and machine code
  • Very good knowledge of the language C with focus on embedded software
  • Very good knowledge of the instruction set of at least one micro-controller, preferably TriCore, Power Architecture, ARM or RH850
  • Abstract Interpretation
  • Formal methods
  • Model checking
  • Desirable knowledge in the areas of code generation, compiler construction, denotational / operational semantics and constraint programming would be desirable
General qualification
  • Completed degree in computer science or software engineering or a comparable university degree
  • Good knowledge of C#/.NET
  • Experience in the field of automotive software engineering is an advantage
  • Very good knowledge of English in spoken and written
  • Very good knowledge of German in spoken and written

Engineer of POSIX OS (embedded) software

GLIWA is looking for an engineer with experience in POSIX OS embedded software (embedded Linux, QNX, VxWorks, GHS Integrity).

GLIWA stands for software excellence in the automotive software industry. We provide tools and services to OEMs and tier 1 suppliers across the globe, with a focus on the South of Germany. Our speciality is observing and understanding the ever more complex timing behaviour of hard, real-time software. We are seeking a candidate with the tenacity to overcome obstacles and the creativity to develop new approaches. This is an opportunity for the right candidate to become an embedded POSIX OS and timing analysis guru.

The role will include the following:
  • Scoping, designing, implementing, testing and maintaining the POSIX related components of the world-leading software timing suite T1
  • Tracking the relevant ongoing industry activities around real-time tracing, timing analysis and automotive [AUTOSAR AP, AGL, Linux Kernel Tracing, ELISA, CIP and Real Time Linux, QNX community]
  • Responsibility for the overall source code quality and maintenance for the corresponding components
  • Technical support
  • Developing diagnostic tools to reduce support effort

We are looking for experience, familiarity or knowledge of as many as possible of the following, in order of decreasing importance:
  • C programming language
  • Very good experience and deep knowledge regarding at least one of the following operating systems: QNX, (Embedded) Linux, GHS Integrity, VxWorks
  • Good English language skills
  • Overall good understanding of all components of a software application stack for POSIX on SMP
  • Software development processes, particular with regard to quality and safety
  • Good German language skills
  • Resource-aware software development
  • Low-level programming
  • Knowledge of the Intel x86 and ARM A-profile hardware architectures
  • Scheduling and schedulability analysis
  • Usability analysis
